During Switzerland’s snowy season (I went during CNY in February to be precise), we were very lucky stay at the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa, located in Interlaken in Switzerland – approx 2 hours train from Zurich.
When we first saw the exterior of the hotel from a distance, we were super shook by how large it was! The main entrance faces the Jungfrau Alps, which is the highest point you can reach in Europe via train – nothing better than having a view of Alps in Switzerland!
As we walked through the large glass spinning doors, we were greeted by men in tux who greeted us and directed us to the reception, where I noticed a joint separation to the hotel. To my knowledge, the hotel has merged together two hotels, this is why it is so gigantic!
We stayed in the Victorian Jungfrau side, which is currently still under renovation, so we were lucky to be given a newly renovated room facing the Jungfrau Alps!
Photos of room
We were toured thoroughly around the hotel, and the concierge were very pleased help us with what was around in the area that we could reach, and the opening hours of tourist attractions. They even bought up food to our room for photos – all past my standards of a 5 star hotel! I couldn’t stop sharing on my IG stories how helpful and kind they were, I felt proper service from their hearts!
Before we headed off to dinner, we checked out the hotel’s spa zone. Spa Nescens was a major highlight at this hotel for us. They had a very beautiful architectural large swimming pool, two jacuzzis surrounding the main pool, and one hot jacuzzi pool OUTSIDE facing some beautiful snowy (at the time) mountains!
The hot pool was extremely salty and supposedly good for the skin. Not to mention how relaxing it was seeing some nature, and having some beautiful cold fresh air to breathe whilst in a hot steaming spa.
Restaurants and Bars
There are a few places to dine and drink inside this hotel.
For breakfast, this tropical yet calming pink and white stunning restaurant with an amazing selection of buffet to choose from inside . Even the juice section had around 20 different flavours to choose from. You will also see views of the Jungfrau Alps from here, with the sun rising and peeking through, talk about breakfast views!?
Ristorante e Pizzeria, SAPORI
A pizza restaurant; we were told that this restaurant had won the best pizza award in the world by our waiter. Our favourite was their signature Sapori pizza, (made of Mazzarella fior di latte, Trevisio radicchio, bacon, Gorgonzola cheese, nuts and tomatoes), and Miss Italia ( Buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, Parma ham, Gran Padano cheese, rocket and truffle oil) !
Not to mention that the interiors of the restaurant caught my eye also!
There were numerous of rooms around the hotel just to sit and chill at. We came across the Victoria Bar and ordered some cheesecake and drinks from here during tea time.
Otherwise, why not choose to eat breakfast or tea on your own balcony like we did?
